Watchet Festival – Coronavirus (COVID-19) Statement
We would like to advise you that as of today’s date ( 17th March) that Watchet Festival planning is going ahead as normal. We are of course proceeding cautiously really hoping that our event will still take place as scheduled or until such time that we are instructed otherwise to put alternative measures in place.
We have paid out a lot of money in deposits and until such times as mass gatherings are officially banned by the government we cannot attempt to claim on our insurance and any force majeure contract clauses cannot be put into place.
We are all acutely aware of the devastating impact COVID-19 has had around the world, the health and safety of you, our audience, artists, traders and crew will always be our number one priority, so we shall continue to monitor things closely.
Watchet 2020 is over 6 months away, well over the 12 week self-isolating advice given by HM Government ( at present). We will of course continue to follow all guidance measures and advice given to us by the Association of Festival Organisers from information issued from HM Government and Public Health England and will of course update you with any more information as soon as we have it.
We are all in this together, there will unfortunately be very difficult times ahead so please look after yourselves, your family and friends to ensure that you all stay fit and healthy by following the Governments and N.H.S advise given to us all.
